Daily Thought: Jesus, Master Builder & Chief Architect

God desires that we worship Him not just with our lips, but from our hearts in spirit and in truth.

By His great power, He formed us from the dust of the earth and made us a living soul. He clothed us with flesh, fenced us with bones and sinews, and put His spirit within us. He fashioned all our members, and made us to multiply and fill the earth. Yet the “Master Builder” and “Chief Architect” of His universe has not left His “Blue Prints” in our hands. Man has tried to come up with his own designs, but have failed to produce an enduring work. Jesus is the foundation, and the chief cornerstone that holds it all together.

As we watch Him and learn at His feet, we would be instructed as to how to go about His business. Our ultimate desire would be to bring glory to His name.

As we live our daily lives, we should be cognizant of His presence. Our hearts should rejoice as we bring Him the sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving. Ignoring Him will result in misguided undertakings, that will not endure the test of His fire, when it is tried. We need not fear when He is leading, for He will direct our paths in righteousness, mercy and truth. Amen.

Daily Word: Wisdom's Invitation

Proverbs 9:1-18

Wisdom has built her house, she has hewn out her seven pillars; she has slaughtered her meat, she has mixed her wine, she has also furnished her table. She has sent out her maidens, she cries out from the highest places of the city, "Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!" As for him who lacks understanding, she says to him, "Come, eat of my bread and drink of the wine I have mixed. Forsake foolishness and live, and go in the way of understanding."
He who corrects a scoffer gets shame for himself, and he who rebukes a wicked man only harms himself. Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; rebuke a wise man, and he will love you. Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a just man, and he will increase learning.
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For by Me your days will be multiplied, and years of life will be added to you. If you are wise, you are wise for yourself, and if you scoff, you will bear it alone."
A foolish woman is clamorous; she is simple, and knows nothing. For she sits at the door of her house, on a seat by the highest places of the city, to call to those who pass by, who go straight on their way: Whoever is simple, let him turn in here; and as for him who lacks understanding, she says to him, "Stolen water is sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant." But he does not know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of hell.

Bible Reading: Mark 8:34-38

And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them: Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
