A Morning Prayer and Bible Reading

"He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake." (Psalm 23:2 & 3)

Evening Meditation

"I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy Word above all thy name." (Psalm 138:2)

Reflection:
God has magnified His Word above His name. Meditating upon this should leave one in awe with a hope-filled soul. Every word God has spoken is true — every instruction, every prophecy, every promise. God's Word cannot fail; His Word cannot be destroyed. Trust and obey. Rest sweetly in His care.

Morning Devotion: Go Higher in the Lord, Behold His Glory

In the Epistle of Paul the Apostle, to the saints in Christ Jesus in Philippi, he "painted a picture" of true circumcision: "For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh." (Philippians 3:3)

To emphasize this further, he stated a number of his achievements: "If anyone else thinks he may have confidence in the flesh, I more: circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee; concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless." (Philippians 3:4-6)

After having an encounter with God and entering into a personal relationship with His Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Apostle Paul reckoned, "But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus, my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me." (Philippians 3:7-12)

He continued, "Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:13 & 14)

It is clear in the aforementioned Bible passages, that our Christian walk is one of faith working through love in Christ, and thereby we have received the righteousness of God; not from the law which was a shadow of things to come, or any human effort. For Christ has fulfilled the law for us, so now we can walk in the Spirit and not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

When we hunger and thirst for the Living God, when we humble ourselves before Him, He will take us higher and deeper in the knowledge of Him. We were called with a holy, high calling; we have no righteousness of our own.

Fruit of the Spirit in a Yielded Vessel

As we yield our vessels to the Holy Spirit whom God has given to be our Helper and Teacher, He breaks the hardened soil of our sinful nature, plants the attributes of God and is our living water. The more we yield to the Spirit, the more the Fruit of the Spirit is produced in our lives and God is glorified.

A Prayer:

Dear Gracious Lord,

Not my will, but Yours be done. I submit my life to You. You love us so much and want us to become men and women in whom Your Spirit dwells in unbroken fellowship. A holy temple that's free from sin and the effects thereof. Thank You for making Your children to be trees of Your righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that we may bring glory to Your name. Our lives are beautiful because of You who bore our sins and brought us salvation. Thank You for the power of the Holy Spirit at work in us, molding and changing us to be like You, in what we think, say and do. In Your holy name, we pray. Amen.

Morning Devotion: Walk in the Light of God

The world is dark because of sin, but light shines in the darkness. Jesus is the Light of the world. The Light that lights our way and gives us life. Walk with Jesus all along the way; walk with Jesus every day. - A Walk In The Garden

Blessings That Cannot Be Reversed

In the scriptures, Balak, king of Moab sent for Balaam, son of Beor to pronounce a curse upon Israel (who had camped in the plains of Moab) because he saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites, and Moab became exceedingly afraid of the children of Israel because they were many.

So Balak sent messengers to Balaam to come at once and curse the people. However, when Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he did not go as at other times, to seek to use sorcery. As he set his face toward the wilderness and saw Israel encamped according to their tribes, the Spirit of God came upon Balaam and he bountifully blessed the children of Israel.

Reflection:

Ye blessed of the LORD, rejoice! If God be for you, who can be against you? What He has blessed, no man can curse. Praise His Holy name!

New Heavens and a New Earth

Reflection on the Book of Isaiah, Chapter 65:

Rebellion meets with punishment; obedience with blessing. Praise God, for taking care of the sin problem, not just with a nation, but in its entirety.

In the Presence of the King

Good morning, highly favored! Bask in the presence of the Lord, our King!

We understand from the Word of God (1 Thessalonians 5:9), that God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. Praise God!

Inspiration: Live for Jesus, Brighten the World

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." (John 8:12)

Turning Back to God With Loyal Hearts

You are God, there is none besides You!
The chapter goes on to mention all the trouble that came upon the children of Israel and why? "For the Lord brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel, for he had encouraged moral decline in Judah and had been continually unfaithful to the Lord." 2 Chronicles 28:19

The Holy God of Israel is the Lord we serve. He has called us out of darkness into His glorious light. The life we live is no longer governed by the dictates of our own hearts, but obedience to the true and living God. Endeavoring to walk humbly before Him, being well-pleasing in His sight.

He has paid a high price for the redemption of our souls. Let us esteem His name above every name -- for the Lord God has made everything and in Him we live and move and have our being. God loves us and cares for the work of His hands. He desires to have sweet fellowship with us and to shine through us to the world. We are His ambassadors, sharing the good news of His gospel whereby men may be saved.

Let us serve Him with a loyal heart continually... let us show forth His praise!

God is on His throne, let all creation praise
and bless His Holy Name!

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord...

Our Heavenly Father has plans for His people
A beautiful passage of scripture declaring God's love and care for His people -- "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Jesus Our Great Shepherd

Jesus our Great Shepherd, is leading us through our days and our nights. He is the One who truly cares for us and is watching over us for good. He loves us and desires that we stay close to Him. Apart from His guiding presence, we become the prey of evil that lurks on every side.

We cannot make it through life in our own strength; it is way too small. Our Great Shepherd is our Savior and Lord, who has called us to His perfect rest.

Psalm 23
The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters. He restores
my soul. He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow
of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your
rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my
enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of
my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
